This is UNCANNY. We ARE living parallel lives Lucy Sweet. Last night I started Uncoupled and binge watched the first 3, WHILST EATING A BAG OF SALT AND VINEGAR PEANUTS (not chilli coated in fairness but still the parallels when I read this this morning were unreal!). The peanuts were found after hunting in the cellar for crisps and finding some Xmas stash I had clearly missed when eating my own body weight in left overs in January (the date and consequently texture were dubious but beggars and choosers and all that). Thought that late binge (food and TV wise) would be enough to get me to sleep (having averaged 4-5 hours for the last few nights). Alas, even though I went to bed at 1.30am after 3 successive episodes (go on then Netflix … just one more episode as I cannot be arsed to reach my hand out to turn TV off) I still awoke numerous times for numerous reasons: sweating; wondering if the foxes were making those weird noises or we did have burglars; more sweating; worrying if the sweating was due to the fact the world is burning up or because I had sweated all my HRT gel off before it had had chance to absorb; worrying about world burning up and guilt about my carbon footprint and inability to give up baby wipes (even though youngest child is 12); more burglars/foxes; lightbulb moment realising the guy from Uncoupled is Doogie Howser; wondering if Doogie Howser is gay in real life; more sweating; googling Doogie Howser for far too long; panicking as had to be up at 7 and was already 3.30am and I really need to catch up on some sleep; ALARM GOES OFF!!!!!). So … you are not alone. And reading this week’s Lucyverse this morning made me not only laugh out loud so hard I spat mint tea all over myself but also made me feel a bit less alone and a bit less mad. So thank you kindly. I really needed that. Hope all good sweet cheeks.
